I thought this was such a lovely quote (both visually appealing and inspirational).
One of my favorite things to do (beyond writing) is to dabble in something creative. Whether it is photography, graphics, crafts, sewing, decorating, or baking – I absolutely love to do things that are creative.
On the flip side of that, I know I can’t spend all my time playing around and having fun. There are so many things that must be done (like dishes and laundry and *shudders* ironing) that aren’t particularly things I enjoy. Despite how much I’d rather not do them, they are necessary and important and vital.
Often, while I’m doing those things that don’t rank high on my list of favorite things to do, I allow my thoughts to wander. In those moments when my hands are busy with everyday work, my mind can still reach out creatively, searching for ideas and answers to questions I may not yet have given a voice.
Even in the most mundane activities, there is the gift of grace.
So true and such a beautiful way of putting it.
Well-written, Shanna. I also find that in doing the “mundane,” creativity is not too far away. And, when I want to get away from “real life,” creativity is a balm to help me tackle life’s issues…
Very well stated, Shanna. I, too, have trouble with mundane task and then a few years ago there was fertilizer plant explosion in a city not far from us. My heart went out to all of those that lost loved ones and then homes and EVERYTHING in them. Since it was an massive explosion it shredded the glass in the windows and the homeowners were not allowed to take anything out from their homes. The next time I cleaned house I thanked God that I had a house to clean and even today when I am doing the mundane task I thank God that I have a house to clean, laundry to do and yes, even dishes, ugh….It is a reminder that I am blessed and thankful.
