This morning over on Savvy Entertaining I climbed up on my soapbox and went off on people who talk with their mouth full. Particularly those who call me trying to get me to buy something while they are clearly eating something crunchy or chewy.
It annoys me to no end.
If you deemed a conversation between us important enough to call me, then put down your food, let go of the Big Gulp, turn off the tv and radio, stay out of the bathroom and have a conversation. Otherwise, I’m not even going to listen to what it is you’re trying to get me to do.
The upside to this annoyance, is that it gives me great fodder for rude, obnoxious characters for my books.
Can’t you just envision some pushy salesman who can’t catch a break only to find out he calls his clients while eating salsa and chips. Or maybe it is the completely irritating boss who thinks he is multi-tasking by listening to a ballgame while slurping coffee and trying to participate in a conference call.
I’m learning that every situation, every person I encounter gives me something that I can take and use for a future story.
It’s just a matter of figuring out what it is and then writing it down before I forget!
