When I started working on For Liberty and Love, I wavered back and forth on what Lucy and Branch would look like.
Once I finally decided she would have brown hair and he would be blond, things began to fall into place.
Austin Butler was my inspiration for Branch Barton. I could picture him in a Continental Army uniform, or in the clothes he wore to stand across the street from Lucy’s shop while he was busy spying on who came and went.
Danielle Campbell was my choice for Lucy’s inspiration. She just looks so much like how I envisioned Lucy.
