Hawk’s Mountain is a lovely story by Elizabeth Sinclair.
Struggling to forget the pain and disappointment of her job as a social worker in Atlanta, Rebecca Hawks returns home to Hawks Mountain where Granny Jo welcomes her with open arms. Raised by her loving Granny, Becky finds herself enjoying the beauty and simplicity of a way of life she was quick to leave in her dreams of success.
Nicholas Hart purchased a piece of the mountain from Granny and exiled himself there as he tries unsuccessfully to forget the painful memories of serving in the war.
After a chance meeting Rebecca and Nicholas fight their growing attraction but find themselves working together to make life better for one very special little boy.
The story is very well-written with characters that offer depth. I think Granny was my favorite character of all with her down to earth views and take-no-prisoners attitude.
