Spontaneity isn’t something that happens with any frequency at our house. There are too many responsibilities, too many obligations, too many deadlines.
But on Saturday, inspired by a conversation with my dad, Captain Cavedweller, our Lil’ Miss and I hopped in the pickup as soon as CC arrived home from work and went on a little adventure out of town.
Part of the time, we didn’t even have cell service, but I was okay with that. I can’t tell you the last time I went more than 24 hours without turning on my computer, but it happened this weekend.
And you know how that made me feel… joyful!
There is joy in letting go of all the “must dos” once in a while and just celebrating the incredible, amazing happiness of being in the moment. All the deadlines and responsibilities are still here today, but it was sure nice not to think about them over the weekend.
My hope for you today is that you can do something… something unplanned or unexpected, that fills your heart with joy!
