I’m working on final edits this week on Learnin’ The Ropes, my next book which will be out and ready for reading consumption before the end of the month.
I had way more fun that I probably should writing this story. From feedback I’ve received from my wonderful proofreaders, they’ve said they think it is my best novel yet, which makes me smile like a crazy idiot.
The inspiration from this story is hard to pinpoint, exactly.
I knew I wanted to write a story about a “city dude” who ended up on a ranch.
I thought it would be fun it there was a little mistaken identity involved.
And the reason for creating the Rockin’ R Ranch in a remote area of Harney County? The desert country there reminds me a lot of the desert country around the area where I grew up. It has a beauty that you either love or hate. I’ve always loved it. Loved the wide open spaces and the ability to see for miles. Probably has something to do with my claustrophobia issues, but that is a story for another day.
It also seemed like fun idea to have a really big dog that has a very distinct personality.
Turns out, it was a lot of fun.
I’ll be posting more information about the book as I get closer to hitting the “publish” button. Stay tuned for more details – coming very soon!
