When I gave my office a makeover, one thing I searched for but couldn’t find was a nice letter organizer. I’d been using a pretty flower pot for years, but it was time for an upgrade.
I didn’t want something huge or metal, or that hung on the wall. Just a simple organizer for mail and papers I wanted to keep handy.
When I couldn’t find anything I liked, I decided to go the DIY route.
I found a plain wooden letter organizer I ordered from Walmart, along with wooden rose accents.
I painted the box with white spray paint (it took several coats). Captain Cavedweller sanded the edges so they were silky-smooth.
Then I painted the roses pale pink and added a little sparkle to the roses and buds (because, why not?).
I glued on the roses, and the box was ready to go!
Do you have any type of mail or letter box, or organizer on your desk?

What a beautiful transformation you’ve done with a plain letter organizer. I never think to DIY things. You’re an inspiration! I’ll have to remember that if I can’t find what I want, make it myself if I can.
So kind of you to share that, Marlene! I enjoy doing crafty projects, so this one was especially fun!
That is a cute idea! I recently moved and am getting things I need set into place. I do have a mail organizer, but it is very large and bulky- more than I need and takes up more space than I want to give. This should be a very workable thing for me to do!
Thank you for the great idea and visual!
PS- so enjoying my quiet time with your lovely books! Another Plus about living on my own. Prayers for You and Captain C!
Hi Opal! Hope you are getting all settled in, and I hope you’ll share a photo if you make your own organizer. It was really easy to just give it a few coats of paint and glue on the roses. I so appreciate your readership and kindness! Thank you for your prayers. Much appreciated. Joy and blessings to you! <3
