My fact checker

Yesterday, Captain Cavedweller and I were discussing part of my soon-to-be-released suspense novel. I am currently finishing up details and waiting for it to come back covered in red ink from my fabulous proofreaders.

One part of the book involves a woman and a gun and CC informed me  the grip of the gun would have been too big for her to handle.

I’d never have figured that out on my own.

Captain Cavedweller is good that way. Although few people know this, he is like a walking encyclopedia of bizarre and random facts. I find it most helpful when I need to verify something I don’t immediately find online.

I highly recommend having not only proofreaders for your work, but also someone who can help you check your facts and make sure they are realistic. All it takes is one little detail that doesn’t jive to throw your reader for a loop. And that is the last thing you want to happen.
