Today is National Eat What You Want Day!
Woohoo!
Wow! All the delicious possibilities … Where to begin?
Breakfast.
I’d begin with breakfast, which happens to be my favorite meal of the day. I love waffles, pancakes, Dutch babies, muffins, quick breads, cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, danishes. Yep. All those calorie-laden, gluten-filled treats. And I rarely eat them.
So if today is a day to eat anything I wanted, I’d start with homemade cinnamon rolls, or maybe my Mom’s recipe for maple bars. There would be hash browns, fried to golden perfect, and bacon. Bacon is definitely on the menu.
Lunch options will make me sound like a 10-year-old at the county fair, but I’d go for one of those foot-long corn dogs and a root beer slushie.
Snacks might include movie-theater style popcorn, warm and dripping with butter and loaded with salt. And peanut M&Ms. Man, do I love peanut M&Ms.
Dinner (if I could magically order the meal and make it appear since the nearest option is hours away from our house) would be chicken marsala from the Old Spaghetti Factory, topped with a pile of grated Mizithra cheese.
Dessert? Chocolate of course. I could go for Olive Garden’s Black Tie Mousse Cake, or my homemade chocolate bundt cake, or even a flourless chocolate cake smother in rich ganache with fresh raspberries on the side. Or maybe a mile-high slice of chocolate cream pie!
What about you? What would you eat today if you could eat anything you wanted?

This would be a day for a hamburger grilled by my dad (gone for decades…) then dinner of fried crappie filets that we caught in beautiful Lake Texoma. The family gathered around the table after a day on the lake. Great memories!!!
Oh, so neat you have those memories, Cindy. We used to have fried crappie filets from the fish we caught in our pond. So yummy! Have a lovely day!
I am not sure where I would start. For breakfast it would be Dorothy’s Eggs (a favorite casserole I make), lots of bacon, home fries, OJ, and coffee. For lunch I would love to reincarnate a favorite restaurant that closed. They had the best French Onion Soup and a Rueben. Supper would be fresh Maine lobster, at least 2, with a baked potato, and tossed salad. Dessert would be cheesecake with a raspberry topping and chocolate drizzle. An Irish coffee would finish the evening off. Now I will have to eat salads for weeks to lose the weight I just gained thinking about all that fattening food.
LOL! I know what you mean about the salads, but those favorite foods sound so delish! Bacon is one of my favs!
Thanks for dropping in!
