Does anyone else out there enjoy a good rodeo?
Captain Cavedweller and I had such a good time at the Pendleton Round-Up over the weekend.
We ate culinary delights of beefy goodness.
We watched a parade where these two seemed to steal the show:
Yeah – we were pretty impressed with how docile they seemed – and the steers, too!
Then we went to the rodeo… twice!
I had a new camera lens that I used for the first time at a rodeo. On Friday, we sat close to the bucking chutes. On Saturday, we were across the arena. Let me know which photos you think turned out the best! I still have much to learn about taking action shots.
This young man’s Mama is the sweetest, sweetest lady. Cort Scheer is riding and that’s Kaycee Feild in the background.
Bobby Kerr had the specialty act. He takes “wild” mustangs and trains them to do everything. If you ever have the opportunity to watch him perform, it is amazing. He shoots blanks while riding, ropes, jumps over cars, and gets the horse to climb up there and then go down the steps. The whole time he was talking about training mustangs, the flag was slapping this beauty in the face and it never fussed at all.
He was a particularly snotty bull.
