Praline Pecan Snack Mix

I was in the grocery store, getting Chex cereal for Captain Cavedweller to make his traditional Chex mix, when a box of Honey Nut Chex caught my eye.

I added it to the cart, thinking about possibilities for a sweet snack mix with Honey Nut Chex as the base.

The result is this yummy, sweet creation that is impossible to stop eating after only one bite!

Praline Pecan Snack Mix

INGREDIENTS

Honey Nut Chex (12-ounce box)

1 cup Kirkland Praline Pecans (any candied pecan will work, but we like these best!)

1 cup pretzel twists

1 cup cocktail peanuts

4 cups Pop Corners Kettle Corn Chips

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup corn syrup

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, combine cereal, nuts, pretzels, and chips. Set aside.  Grease an 18×26 baking sheet (or two smaller sheets) and set aside.

In a heavy saucepan, stir together brown sugar, butter, and syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it bowls. Remove from heat and immediately add vanilla and baking soda, stirring to combine.

Pour the glaze over the cereal mixture, carefully stirring to coat.

Spoon onto baking sheet and bake for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool, then store in an air-tight container.
