Sarah Character Inspiration

Today, I wanted to share some of the inspiration behind the characters in my new release, Sarah.

Brett Rawlings (the hero) and his identical twin brother, Ben, have been popping up in my Pendleton stories since they were born. From descriptions in past books, we knew the twins had dark hair like their mother, and looked like a blending of both parents.

I also needed to find inspiration that fit a 16-year-old.

When I happened upon this image of Corey Saucier, I knew I’d found Brett and Ben. Just picture him with green eyes for Brett!

As for Sarah, other than a mention of her name, not much was known about her, so I had a little leeway in what she looked like. The cover for this book, though, was finished months before I wrote the story, so Sarah needed to have blonde hair.

Angourie Rice seemed like a perfect choice for our sweet Sarah. I could just picture her so clearly in my mind. Desperately in love with Brett. Devastated by Ben’s betrayal. Bonding with Kade and Caterina Rawlings – Brett’s parents.

From the book Caterina, I already had inspiration for Kade Rawlings in Alan Ritchson

And Mila Kunis as the energetic and feisty Caterina.

Brett and Sarah’s journey to their happily ever after is an emotion-packed journey, but I hope you’ll give it a chance if you haven’t read it yet.

And listen to this lovely version of “Perfect” that was so fitting as Brett and Sarah’s song.
