If you want a delicious, easy-to-make soup, this one is it!
Full of flavor and so warm and comforting on a cold winter day, you can make this in less than an hour!
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound ground sausage
4 tablespoons flour
4 cups chicken broth
1 cup spinach leaves (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion flakes
1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash (or similar) seasoning
1 teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoning Salt (option)
1 teaspoon dried parsley or several fresh sprigs
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups tortellini (refrigerated variety)
shredded parmesan (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
In a large saucepan, brown sausage over medium heat. Cook until no longer pink. Drain grease. Stir in flour and cook for a few minutes to remove raw flour taste.
Add chicken broth and seasoning and bring to a boil. Add cream and bring to boil, stirring to make sure it doesn’t scorch. Add tortellini and cook for 5 minutes. (If desired, add spinach and cook just until wilted.)
Serve with a garnish of parsley and a sprinkle of cheese (optional).
