Summer Travel Plans

If you are like me, your mind is drifting to fun summer travel plans.

With our enormous kitchen remodel project, we don’t have a lot of plans for the summer, other than my trip to Deadwood (come see me at the book signing today!).

The one thing we are planning to do, although we don’t have a date set on the calendar yet, is to take a few days to enjoy the Hood River Fruit Loop Tour.

The Hood River Fruit Loop Tour is a unique rural farm experience in the gorgeous Hood River Valley of Oregon. With a map in hand, you can drive to 28 on-the-farm fruit stands, cideries, wineries, and fields of flowers as well as antique stores. Seriously, it combines some of our favorite things like farm fresh food, beautiful scenery, and antiques!

The Hood River Valley has a rich agricultural heritage that began with the planting of the first fruit trees in 1855. Today, there are 14,500 acres of pears, apples, and cherries that cover the valley.

Visitors can wander down the 35 miles of scenic country roads on a self-guided tour for a unique adventure.

One we sure hope to take.

What about you? What are your summer plans this year?

  1. We will be leaving for Kenya on August 8th and not returning until October 18th. It is the first time we have been able to go since covid, so i am really looking forward to it. Until we leave, I will be spending as much time as possible in my pool.

    1. Oh, wow! That sounds like a phenomenal trip! I hope you have an amazing time! And enjoy the pool!

  2. This sounds like a great road trip. You didn’t mention the apricots in the picture. Do they have cots and peaches, too? I know they have lots of cherries because I bought some on the Washington side one year on my way to my daughter’s house in Washougal.

    1. They do have apricots and peaches. Actually, what I’m most looking forward to getting are peaches! How fun your daughter lived in Washougal!
