I love sharing the inspiration behind the characters in my books.
Sunrise Surf (releasing July 31) has a hero who is undercover. It was a lot of fun to write two versions of his character.
Logan Wright is an Oregon State Police Officer spending the summer in Seaside, Oregon, pretending to be a carefree surfer living in an old van.
When I started thinking about his character, all I knew was that he needed to look like a “surfer beach bum.”
I started looking for images for inspiration and knew when I landed on a photo of Cameron Fuller that I’d found Logan.
I could just picture him so easily in my mind charming the heroine while investigating the bad guys.
This surfer with the sun-bleached hair definitely made me think of Logan and his alter ego Bodhi. Although, in the story, Logan has curly hair, this is close!
Next week, I’ll share about Laken Hayes, the doctor and heroine, who can’t seem to resist Logan’s charm, even when she thinks he is Bodhi and a homeless drifter.
