The Bridge Character Inspiration

I thought you might like to see the inspiration behind the characters in The Bridge.

Let’s start with the first character you meet in the story.

Matt Cohen was my choice for Portland Police Bureau Sergeant Archer Raines. He just fit exactly what I had in mind for Archer’s character.

As soon as I saw this image of Kevin Rankin, I knew he’d make a perfect Leon – the character in crisis who causes the catalyst point in the story.

Bethany Joy Lenz was the inspiration for the character of Rosalee. She has that vibrant spirit and energy I could envision in Roselee.

Olga Krylenko is lovely and exactly how I imagined Nova would look.

Matthew G. Taylor was the inspiration behind tow truck driver Carter. He may look a little formidable, but he’s a soft marshmallow on the inside.

Jacob Elordi was behind the inspiration for Ian’s character. I could so easily envision him desperate to land a job that would launch his career, and unexpectedly falling in love.

Charlotte Best was perfect for Kate – Ian’s rideshare driver. The two of them had an instant attraction that led to a sweet Christmas kiss.

While I was writing the story, my song of choice was from Brett Eldredge. Listen to him sing Good Day.
