Have you read The Christmas Wish yet?
I think you’ll enjoy seeing the inspiration behind the characters today.
Our hero, Percy Bruner, first appeared in the Hardman Holidays series as a mischievous six-year-old red-headed imp. Not only did I saddle this kid with a weird name, had had bright red hair and freckles to boot.
However, a few years ago, I happened to be watching a Hallmark movie when a secondary character caught my eye. I knew right then he would make an absolutely awesome grown-up version of Percy!
Meet Curtis Tweedie – the perfect inspiration for Percy when he returns to Hardman all grown up.
Isn’t he a cutie?
From that hair to his eyes, to the smile, he is so, so perfect for Percy.
Percy’s love interest in a new character to the series named Brynn. She’s full of life and joy and light.
When I began searching for inspiration for her character, I knew I needed someone who exuded those things.
Elizabeth Lail fit the bill to a T. She is lovely and sweet, and looks full of fun, too!
And she seemed like a perfect match for Percy.
I always chose a song that I play while I write a story. For Percy and Brynn’s sweet romance, I went with one of my favorite country singers, Brett Eldredge, and his song “The Long Way.” I felt like it was a good fit for this couple who had so much heartache to overcome to find their happily ever after.

I loved this story! Great characters to grow to enjoy! Such imagery and scene writing made me really feel like I was there in the time of this beautiful story!
Oh, thank you for your kind words, Sharon. I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
I started to read Christmas Calamity, and first read a short excerpt about the the original Nashes Folly. I can not find the book! I have read every book about Pendleton. Would you be able to help me? The first couple that came to Pendleton, bought land & were deciding where to put house, barn, etc. Then it ended! Is this a new book?
Is this a new book? Thanks for your help Shanna.
