The idea for The Coffee Girl story started percolating last summer when Captain Cavedweller and I were on vacation. We were driving through a small town that was quite lovely and it was well past lunch time. We parked and wandered up and down the main street, looking in little shops, trying to find somewhere promising to eat. Opening the door to a home interior store, we were surprised to find it had a little bistro counter on one side of the large store space.
Placing our orders, we looked around the store then sat at fun little tables and watched the world wander by outside. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was just fun. That’s when I said to CC “this would make a fun story.”
He grunted at me as he ate his sandwich and I took that as full agreement.
I knew then that the store had to be a mother-daughter venture in my story. I added in a second daughter to make things more interesting. And of course there had to be a way to get the romance brewing, so that is where out handsome construction guy comes in.
That’s how Brenna and Brock’s story came to be!
