In December 2024, as my Christmas gift from Captain Cavedweller, he gifted me with an antique chair for my office.
The old chair I had (which started out in plush orange upholstery, picked up at a yard sale by his mom a long, long time ago, and I recovered in a sage rose print) was in need of being replaced.
I loved the chair so much, just not the upholstery.
The bug/moth motif is definitely not my cup of tea.
I immediately began looking for fabric and trim for the chair. It took about a month to find what I wanted.
Then we contacted a local upholsterer to get on the schedule for getting the chair recovered.
Fast forward a year.
Not kidding – a whole year!
We finally got our turn at the upholsterer’s shop and CC hauled in the chair, fabric, and trim.
It only took about a week before the chair was ready to pick up.
It turned out even better than I hoped! The upholsterer also worked some magic on the chips and dings in the wood. I’m so, so happy with how it looks!
The best part?
It’s so comfy to sit in!
Have you ever had any furniture recovered?
