When I was getting ready to take the photo for the cover of Not His Type, a very sweet friend let me borrow some of her shoes. We talked about the significance of the purple cowboy boots on the cover to Anna and Jake’s story.
A few weeks later, I arrived at work one morning to find this sweet little purple boot on my desk along with an encouraging note from my friend.
I’ve got the boot on my desk at home where I do my writing.
It inspires me to keep dreaming, to keep working hard, to keep moving forward. It makes me think of a story that was absolutely pure fun to write. It makes me smile and reminds me that I have wonderful, supportive friends who believe in me.
All that, from one fantastic little purple boot.
